Our Environmental Responsibility

A Rapidly Progressing Industry

Progression in technology means that the commercial refrigeration industry is rapidly evolving and developing new equipment that observes high environmental awareness. It’s an exciting time as ‘green’ manufacture, design and energy efficient features advance in leaps and bounds. Whether with regard to refrigerants (in line with F-Gas Regulations) or Minimum Energy Performance Standard (MEPS) labelling, manufacturers and customers have never been more well-informed or in such a positive position when looking to reduce their environmental impact.

Our Promise to Our Customers

At FFD Commercial Refrigeration we supply a wide range of commercial refrigeration from brands leading the way with regard to best environmental practice. We encourage our customers to invest wisely in energy efficient equipment with low Global Warming Potential (GWP) in order to minimise their carbon footprint whilst still equipping their business with products perfectly suited to their individual requirements. We also promote responsible collection, recycling and disposal of used commercial refrigeration in line with WEEE Regulations.

We actively display all MEPS labels where applicable and where relevant details are available, providing full information regarding refrigeration performance and efficiency. This ensures that customers make the right choice not only for their business but for the environment as well.

FFD are a Refcom Elite Supplier, working with the industry to better enforce F-Gas Regulations while highlighting the importance of responsible supply of refrigerated equipment, demonstrating best practice in refrigerant management and emphasising how the use of F Gas registered engineers can minimise environmental impact. As a Refcom Elite Supplier we are regulated to ensure that we keep a comprehensive database of all units sold, installed and conditioned. We hold information regarding every piece of equipment sold, the refrigerant gas used in each unit and the combined weight of this gas. This information is used not only for the benefit of the industry but, importantly, the environment. For more information please see our F-Gas Sales Policy.

Offering advice and aftercare to guarantee equipment continues to run at optimum efficiency after purchase, we are with you every step of the way.

How We Operate

Not only do we aim to help our customers be environmentally aware with their equipment choices and subsequent use but also strive to observe environmental awareness within our business on a day-to-day basis. Employing ‘green’ practices within the company, we encourage all team members to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle where possible and be responsible in regard to energy and water usage by switching off lights, turning off taps and always shutting down computers at the end of the day.
